Combat Robotics Build Camp
Do you love robots? Are you interested in learning to build a robot that can compete against another robot? During this 3-day session students in grades 7- 12 will learn the basics of combat robotics. This Combat Robotics Build Camp focuses on the construction of 1-lb (Ant Weight) combat robots. Students will learn how combat robots are physically built, including drivetrains, electronics layout, structural components, and armor, while working in a structured, safety-focused environment. The emphasis is on hands-on building, proper assembly techniques, and understanding how components work together.
This exciting hands-on introduction is a great way to practice safe tool use and see the process of creating a combat robot as students work step by step to build their robot. No experience with combat robotics is necessary to attend. Come ready to learn about and build a beginner combat robot! Students will use the robots they assembled to participate in a tournament style competition at the close of the camp.
Students will:
- Learn how to assemble a 1-lb combat robot structure
- Build drivetrains and install motors and electronics
- Learn wiring, mounting, and basic fabrication techniques
- Practice safe tool use and electronics handling
