Combat Robotics: Design, Build & Battle — Grades 7+
August
Combat Robotics: Design, Build & Battle is a week-long camp where students go beyond just assembling a robot and actually design one from scratch. Using Computer-Aided Design tools alongside hands-on building, students will plan their robot structure, build its drivetrain, wire its electronics, and bring it to life before competing in a tournament at the end of the week. This camp gives students a real taste of what engineers do every day, from the first sketch all the way to the final competition. No prior experience is required, just a drive to create something awesome.
Students will:
- Learn the basics of Computer Aided Design while designing your robot
- Learn how to assemble a 1-lb combat robot structure
- Build drivetrains and install motors and electronics
- Learn wiring, mounting, and basic fabrication techniques
- Practice safe tool use and electronics handling
