LEGO Robotics Engineers (5 weeks)

for students in grades 4-8

This project-based class develops core robotics skills with LEGO SPIKE Prime—without competition pressure. Students build reliable drivetrains, add simple mechanisms, and use sensors to complete creative challenges, ending with a friendly in-class showcase.

Through interactive lessons and hands-on activities, students will:

- Achieve straight, repeatable driving and accurate 90° turns.

- Use color and distance sensors for line-edge parking, approach/stop, and square-ups.

- Build and swap simple attachments to move/carry objects.

- Plan short multi-challenge routes and debug them into consistent runs.

- Rotate team roles (driver/coder/pit) and document quick “what changed and why” notes.

- Present a short demo route during the final showcase.

Grounded in FIRST LEGO League-style iteration and documentation habits, this program builds confidence through visible, testable progress.
